How do I take cases on and off the belt?

The Urban Utility Belt was designed to provide the maximum in security. That’s why the belt and cases feature “One Way Lift” snaps that can only be removed one way, by lifting the case from the belt at the dot, which is located on the side of each snap’s socket. On the small and medium cases, dots are located on the sides of the snaps' sockets toward the inside of the case. So, for example, if you are wearing the belt around your waist, put your fingers between the snaps and pull them firmly outward to remove them. The snap security feature also means that cases will not come off unintentionally, and that no one can pull the cases off of you. For more details, see How to Use the UUB.

What is the difference between the two belt pieces that are available as part of the Urban Utility Belt system?
The product line includes a traditional waist belt as well as a belt extender. Most likely, you will purchase the belt that fits your waist or hips (available in five sizes). But if you also want the option of wearing the UUB across your chest, get the belt extender. It attaches to the waist belt and extends it by 20 inches. This allows you to comfortably wear the UUB across your body like a messenger bag. The belt extender is available separately or as part of our Basic System or Total System.

What is the purpose of the studs that are placed all the way around the belt?

The studs are there so that you can place as many cases as you want on the belt, and place them anywhere on the belt that you choose. This gives you the ability to customize the Urban Utility Belt the way you want it, with cases in front, back, up or down – the choice is yours.

Which case should I use for my cell phone?

The snap or zip small case measures 3.5” x 5.5” and provides a virtually universal fit for cell phones. However, having a case intended only for phones, i.e. a “phone case,” would go completely against the Urban Utility Belt philosophy. What people choose to carry with them is as varied as the individual, so we would never tell you what to carry in your UUB. The cases are designed to fit a wide range of items, and it’s up to you to decide how many cases you want and what you’re going to put in them.
